This Easter Bunny Breakfast idea is a fun way to transform pancakes or bacon and eggs into a super cute Easter themed breakfast. Easy to make and kids love it!

Fun Easter Breakfast Idea For Kids

How cute are these bunny pancakes and Easter Bunny bacon and eggs? Easy to make with a few simple ingredients and so much fun!

I have been making this Easter Bunny Breakfast since my kids were toddlers. They are older now but still request this for breakfast every single Easter. Just goes to show that you are never too old to play with your food!

This is a fun Easter breakfast idea for kids of all ages. Or make it any other time of year you simply want a cute bunny themed breakfast! Make one of the variations or a variety of them. Let me show you how easy these are to make!

Easter Bunny Pancakes

To make these bunny pancakes, you will need:

  • Pancakes: Whip up a batch of your favorite pancake recipe.
  • Bacon: For the ears, you will need 1 slice of bacon per bunny. Cut each slice in half before cooking to your desired level of crispiness.
  • Chocolate Chips or Blueberries: For the eyes.
  • Strawberries or Raspberries: Cut off the tip of a strawberry or use a raspberry for the nose.
  • Pineapple: Cut into thin “whisker shaped” strips for the bunny whiskers.

Now comes the fun part! Time to assemble…

  1. Place a pancake on a plate.
  2. Position two of the bacon halves on the pancake as ears.
  3. Add two chocolate chips or blueberries as eyes and the tip of a strawberry or raspberry for the nose.
  4. Place the thin pineapple strips on as whiskers.

Repeat the assembly process to make more bunny pancakes. Enjoy!

Easter Bunny Bacon And Eggs

Let me show you two possible variations using sunny side up fried eggs and scrambled eggs.

Fried Eggs (Sunny Side Up) Bunny

To make this Easter Bunny fried egg, you will need…

  • Fried Egg: One sunny side up fried egg per bunny. The yolk will act as the bunny nose.
  • Bacon: For the ears. You will need 1 slice of bacon per bunny. Cut each slice in half before cooking to your desired level of crispiness.
  • Blueberries: For the eyes. You could also use black olives instead.
  • Chives or Cheese: For the whiskers. If using cheese, slice it into thin “whisker shape” strips.

Time to put them together! Simply…

Scrambled Egg Bunny

To make these scrambled egg bunnies, you will need…

  • Scrambled Eggs: 2 scrambled eggs per bunny (or more if you prefer)
  • Bacon: For the ears, you will need 1 slice of bacon per bunny. Cut each slice in half before cooking.
  • Blueberries: For the eyes. You can also use black olives instead.
  • Raspberry: For the nose.
  • Cheese or Chives: For the whiskers. If using cheese, just slice into thin “whisker shape” pieces.

To assemble, simply…

  1. Scoop the scrambled eggs into a small bowl or ramekin.
  2. Position two bacon halves as ears.
  3. Add two blueberries for eyes.
  4. Add the raspberry for a nose and place the cheese strips or chives on as whiskers.

Repeat for any additional scrambled egg bunnies you want to make.

A Few Helpful Tips

  • Bacon Ears: I find that half a bacon slice is the perfect size for the bunny ears. Therefore, cut each slice of bacon in half before cooking and then cook until your desired level of crispiness.
  • Cooking Bacon: I prefer to cook the bacon in the oven. Lay the bacon on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Then cook in a 400F (200C) oven for 15-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like it (timing can depend on the thickness of bacon). Remove from the oven and transfer bacon to a paper towel lined plate.
  • Fully Assembled or Decorating Station: Surprise the kids (or adults!) with this Easter Bunny breakfast fully assembled. Or set up a decorating station with all the components and let everybody build their own bunny pancake or eggs.

Description

Transform those weekend pancakes or bacon and eggs into a fun and cute Easter themed breakfast.  This Easter Bunny Breakfast idea is easy to make and kids love it!


Ingredients

Scale

Bunny Pancake:

  • 1 pancake
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 2 chocolate chips or blueberries
  • 1 strawberry, use the tip (or a raspberry)
  • 6 thin “whisker shape” strips of pineapple

Fried Egg Bunny:

  • 1 fried egg (sunny side up)
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 2 blueberries (or substitute black olives)
  • 6 chives or thin strips of cheese cut into “whiskers”

Scrambled Egg Bunny:

  • 2 scrambled eggs
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 2 blueberries
  • 1 raspberry
  • 6 thin strips of cheese or chives cut into “whiskers”

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon:  Cut bacon slice in half.  Cook to desired level of crispiness and transfer to a paper towel lined plate.
  2. Make pancakes or eggs:  Make pancakes, fried egg (sunny side up) or scrambled eggs depending on the variation you want to make.  Or make a variety!
  3. Assemble:  Time for the fun part!  See below for instructions for each version.  The post also contains step by step photos for each variation.

Pancake Version: Place a pancake on a plate.  Position the bacon as ears.  Place the chocolate chips or blueberries as the eyes, the tip of a strawberry or raspberry as the nose and thin pineapple strips as whiskers.

Fried Egg Version: Place the fried egg on a plate.  Position the bacon as ears.  Add two blueberries for eyes and place the chives or thin cheese strips on as whiskers.

Scrambled Egg Version: Scoop the scrambled eggs into a small bowl or ramekin.  Position the bacon as ears.  Add two blueberries for eyes, a raspberry for the nose and thin strips of cheese or chives as whiskers.


Notes

  • This recipe is for one Easter Bunny Breakfast for demonstration purposes.  However, you will usually cook off a bunch of pancakes, eggs or bacon at once.  Simply repeat the assembly process to make additional bunny pancakes or eggs.
  • Cooking Bacon:  I prefer to cook the bacon in the oven.  Cut each slice in half and lay on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper.  Cook in a 400F (200C) oven for 15-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like it (timing also depends on thickness of bacon).  Remove from the oven and transfer bacon to a paper towel lined plate.
